Torre del Conte Paolo Ballada di Saint Robert
The count Paolo Ballada of Saint Robert was an important scholar of military technology.
In 1880, he built an imposing 14-meter tall observation tower (visitable) that still dominates the panorama of Castagnole delle Lanze. Inside the tower is the museum dedicated to the Count, run by the cultural association Torre del Conte Paolo Ballada di Saint Robert.
The tower stands where once stood the castle of Castagnole delle Lanze, destroyed in 1255.
A new panoramic point was inaugurated on 1st July 2018 at the tower and the museum dedicated to Count Paolo Ballada of Saint Robert.
The project consists of four panels with photos and an indication of the mountain peaks.
The work was carried out by the cultural association Torre del Conte Paolo Ballada di Saint Robert thanks to the contribution of Club Alpino Italiano.
